Please note |
On the Shannon Navigation lateral starboard markers and buoys are now coloured GREEN, and are depicted as such on electronic charts rather than their former colour of black. This is because the navigation authority has changed the lateral markers to IALA red/green colouring system. Some old paper charts may depict starboard markers in black. |
While many navigation markers are in the current release, not all navigation markers are included, especially on the river sections of the Shannon. These may be added to future releases. Be aware that from time to time navigation markers are repositioned, added or removed by the navigation authority, so when navigating do so visually pay attention to the real markers on the lakes and rivers in conjunction with the paper navigation charts produced by the navigation authority (ie Waterways Ireland). Markers depicted on the electronic charts are there for general information purposes only and should NOT be relied apon, instead navigate using the physical markers on the water. It is your responsibility to navigate visually using the buoyage system, not using a general information tool such as these charts. |
